Follow the below steps to reset the root account's password for VMware vRealize log Insight:
  1. Take a snapshot for vmware vRealize log Insight VM. 
  2. Enter the following in the Boot Options :  init=/bin/bash
  3. Confirm by pressing Enter. The system will boot and you will see the command line interface.
  4. Run passwd command to change the root password. 
  5. Reboot VM after changing root password.
