Directly attaching a host to a Unity system is supported .
Please refer to page 30 in the below Dell EMC Unity™ Family Configuring Hosts to Access Fibre Channel (FC) or iSCSI Storage document :
"Directly attaching a host to a Unity system is supported if the host connects to both SPs and has the required multipath software."
