Isilon Search fails to connect to Isilon cluster with below error.
not able to connect to zinc$ or zinc shares .
This is due to SMBv1 disabled on the cluster. Customer can confirm this by running below command on Isilon node via terminal session
isi_gconfig registry.Services.lwio.Parameters.Drivers.srv.SupportSmb1
If the command returns below results, it means SMBv1 is disabled
registry.Services.lwio.Parameters.Drivers.srv.SupportSmb1 (uint32) = 0
Isilon Search 2.0 required SMBv1 to connect to Zinc$ share.
Service pack for Isilon Search 2.0 will use SMBv2 protocol to connect to Isilon Cluster instead of SMBv1.
Workaround till then is to enable SMBv1 on Isilon cluster.
isi_gconfig registry.Services.lwio.Parameters.Drivers.srv.SupportSmb1=1
After you enable or disable support for SMB1 you must restart the srv service on each node in the cluster.
isi_for_array "/usr/likewise/bin/lwsm restart srv; sleep 20"
Restarting the srv service across the cluster will cause all SMB connections to be temporarily disconnected.
