Note: The command isi_gather_info could only be run from the root user using the CLI , for non-root user to be able to run it from CLI it requires user to be added into sudoer file so it can run with sudo command.
Steps to allow non-root user to run isi_gather_info from CLI:
- Open an SSH connection on any node in the cluster and log on using the "root" account.
- Create a backup of the /etc/mcp/override/sudoers file:
# cp /etc/mcp/override/sudoers /ifs/data/Isilon_Support/sudoers.bak
- Begin modifying the sudoer file, by running the following command:
# isi_visudo
- Edit the file to add the user to have the privilege to run the isi_gather_info command with sudo prefix:
<username> ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/isi_gather_info
- Try to run the isi_gather_info from this user with a sudo prefix:
% sudo isi_gather_info
