Inspiron 15 5567, no audio output device
I have a Inspiron 15 5567. Suddenly I have no audio and “No Audio Output Device Found” along with the red X over the speaker symbol. I have seen quite a few references to this issue on the internet. There were no Windows 10 updates done in the 3 weeks prior to this happening. There was a Dell Update (V 3.1.1) loaded 2 days before this happened. So I am suspicious that there might be some sort of Window/Dell conflict. I have attempted all of the recommended solutions that I have found on the internet but none have worked. That includes updating drivers, removing drivers and letting the system reinstall them, ensuring services are running, etc. When I do a bootup hardware diagnostic, I do NOT hear the 6 or 8 beeps/tones that I am supposed to hear.
I am at a loss as to what I should do next. Can anyone help?

No I don't see any option to roll back the Dell update. If you know how, let me know.

Can you rollback the Dell update?
Also, disable automatic Dell updates. There is no reason to do them unless it is a security update.

"No audio output device" ....... So I did a pre boot hardware test. I did NOT hear any tones. Does this mean the speakers are bad or could there be a problem elsewhere such as on the motherboard. Everything was fine and suddenly we have no audio.

What version fo Windows?
If you don't know, type msinfo32 onto search box, stroll down to System Model, you should see it now.
In meantime, check in device manager to see if there's a Audio driver. It might be under Audio Inputs Or Outputs, or Sound, video and game controllers. To get into device manager; Press Windows key+ R key at same time, type devmgmt.msc and then select OK.

Windows 10 1909
Under “Sound, Video & Game Controllers’ I see “Intel Display Audio”
Under “System Devices” I see “High Definition Audio Controller”
The category “Audio Input & Output Devices” is not even listed
When I hover over the speaker icon with the red X it says ‘no speakers or headphones connected’
I have deleted and reloaded drivers to no avail.
I have tried alternate speakers to no avail.
I have tried headphones to no avail
I can get audio via Bluetooth
When I did the pre boot hardware diagnostics I did not hear the tones.
There were not any Windows updates installed in the 3 weeks prior to this happening
There was a Dell update installed 2 days before this happened
I don’t know what else to try as I have tried everything that everyone has listed in response to no audio problems in the posts.

If audio is Enabled in the BIOS and audio always works on a power off/on and restart, then the fault lies with the operating system, not the Inspiron 15 5567 hardware.
