Symptoms

New devices shipped with Windows 10 Home 19H1 may fail the First-Time Activation process after finishing the Out-Of-Box Experience (OOBE). Users may contact Dell as they are unable to successfully (re)activate Windows 10.

Users contacting Dell for this issue will receive one of the following error codes:

  • 0x800704CF – Windows can’t reach our activation servers right now.
  • 0xC004F213 – Windows reported that no product key was found on your device.

Cause

An unidentified Windows 10 software activation issue is the cause.

Resolution

NOTE: This is NOT a hardware issue, Windows Activation Troubleshooter can resolve this issue.

Perform the following steps to resolve this issue:
