Article Summary: This article explains how to Regenerate SSL Certificate on the X1000 and X4000 series switches.
To apply the following configuration we need to have console/telnet/ssh access of Dell Networking X-Series switch.
1. Connect thru console/telnet/ssh to gain access to the X Series switch.
2. Ensure that the switch is on the firmware version 3.0.0.91.
Xswitch# show version
SW version 3.0.0.91 ( date 23-Apr-2017 time 09:45:17 )
Boot version 1.0.0.25 ( date 05-Apr-2017 time 09:55:19 )
HW version 00.00.03
3. Issue the following commands on X Series switch as this will extend the certificate on Dell switch for next 5 Years.

Enter the global configuration mode. |
| Switch (Config) # no crypto certificate 2 |
From the configuration mode delete existing certificate. |
| Switch (Config) # crypto certificate 2 generate duration 1825 |
Generate an another certificate with 5 years duration |
| Switch (Config) # ip https certificate 2 |
Generate certificate for HTTPS |
| Switch (Config) # exit |
Exit out of the global configuration mode |
| Switch # copy running-config startup-config |
Save the changes on Dell Switch |
| Switch # reload |
Reload the switch for the changes to take in effect. |
The switch must reload for the changes to take affect.
How to save and reload from the web management GUI page
1. Click on the Gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
2. Click Save to Startup Configuration
3. Click on Reboot Switch from the same drop down to reload the switch and apply the changes.
This saves your configuration, so that if the switch reboots, it loads the configuration you just saved.
